Stop Caring About What Other People Think of You

Do you hold back from doing something because you’re afraid your parents won’t approve?  Is there some ex who you’re never going to see again but you’re just hoping and praying that one day they realize what a mistake they made letting you go?

Who wins with thoughts like this?  Certainly you don’t, you’re letting someone else’s thoughts dictate your life.  (If you really want to get technical, you’re actually letting your assumptions about someone else’s thoughts dictate your life.)  That sure doesn’t sound like a recipe to be happy, does it?

Live in your essence. Find out what you are when you’re at your best, and be there.  Then you’ll find that you don’t really care what other people think of your actions, which is an awesome place to be.  And I’m willing to bet if you truly get here, that these people will respect you anyway.   What would be possible then that isn’t possible now?
