Distinguishing is great. When you realize that you’re doing something which is holding you back, or not being true to yourself, or making others unhappy with you, that awareness is needed. Nothing can change without you realizing the problem.
That being said, action is needed. In the Western world we have a tendency to analyze problems over and over from lots of different angles, and ultimately not take action. (It is my belief that this is why coaching is so much more powerful than therapy.) The awareness is necessary for anything, but it’s only the first step.
Action is needed. Without it you’re just observing.
