Life has a way of pulling us in many different directions. We have work, friends, family, appointments, self-care, and a whole bunch of other stuff before we get to the stuff we really find fun, or the things we really want to do. Some of us get so far into this rabbit hole of reacting to our list of tasks that we don’t even spend time thinking about what it is we want to do, or what it is we find enjoyable.
As an exercise, first make a list of things you really want to do. This can be anything, perhaps learning to dance, or traveling somewhere exciting, or finally rescuing the dog you want but don’t have time for, or learning to cook. Then, set a date by which you will do it, with no exceptions. It really is that simple. The biggest hurdle really comes down to getting into the right mindset, and not making reacting to everything else your number one priority.
When I have time? Remove this sentence from your vocabulary. You have time, you just need to acknowledge that you do.
P.S. Here is a great recipe idea for the weekend! I had never made my own pasta sauce before but now that I know how easy it is, I’m never buying it in the store again. And cooking it with the chicken turned out to be wonderful!
