Be Happy

This weekend I was on a boat while we sailed to the beautiful island of Catalina. People who live on boats almost seem to be part of a different world. Despite having very little space, very few possessions, and having to devote a lot of time to things like repairs, having running water, and not crashing into neighbors, the happiness level seems to be much higher among people on boats than it is among the general population.

The fact that you are reading this means you likely have electricity, internet, and live indoors. This means you already have a ton of things to be thankful for. The next time that you feel like your life is not making you happy, I truly urge you to spend some time on a boat, or somewhere like camping. Not only are you in touch with nature and the earth at places like this, but you are giving up a lot to be there. When you get back to your life, I am willing to wager that you feel much different about it then you did when you left.

Be happy. There is so much beauty in the world, and you have a lot of things for which to be thankful. Anytime you need a reminder of this, immerse yourself in the earth to get a great reminder.
